I'm not sure whether that's subject has been covered, but i found some pictures of a working scale model of the Beriev Be-112. This is just one of the generation of amphibians that the Beriev company have been working on and developing. Heres' the working scale model:

This is where you can find all the details of this new amphibian at Beriev:

Hi Stealer.
I thought that it would be interesting to see what goes through designers mind before thay reach what appears to be a final concept. The model you show is obviously electric powered and it would be interesting to know how you discovered the pics..

The following are two pages from a Russian book dealing with all Beriev designs. Unfortunately all the text is in Cyrilic, even the title.

I couldn't find out where those photos came from, but I did find these articles. This is an article that announces the Beriev Be-112:

http://www.seaplaneinternational.com/2009/10/30/thirty-seater-seaplane-form-beriev/

This is an article for the other variant, the Beriev Be-114 which is the one I personally like:

http://www.beriev.com/eng/Be-114_e/be-114_e.html

On this page you'll find more photos of the Be-114 model as well as one photo of the flying RC model of the Be-112:

I'm having problems with photobucket at the moment and some photos have been delete but not by me, so I'll get that sorted out.

Although this could go into the Base forum, I thought you'd be interested in this article from a Kiwi who visited the Beriev base on the Black Sea for an airshow back in 2006. Keep in mind that these are his personal experiences:

The title of the article is esentially "Multi-purpose amphibious aircraft project Be-112 1993".

Hey TASSE, you gonna absolutely love this!! I finally found out where I got the pictures of the Beriev Be-112 model. It was from a very old thread on the RCForums! This is a direct link to the thread and it's got ALL the really detailed photos of the Be-112 model. The thread is from 2006, so i don't know if you'll be able to contact anyone. Still, you never know! Here's the link to the old 2006 thread:

WOW AGAIN !!!!! Thanks a million. Fascinating engineering. I would gamble that the airframe is made from carbon fibre so as to keep the weight down. Any ideas ?

Don't know about carbon fibre. It's expensive, hard to work with and brittle. You could always ask Beriev by emailing them here:

General Designer
Nikolay A. Lavro
Phone: +7(8634) 320-657
Fax: +7(8634) 647-434
+7(8634) 366-321
lavro@beriev.com

Enquiries: info@beriev.com

Here's a direct link to the video of that Be-112 model:
