Help needed: Empire 'boats landing at Southampton......

Postby seawings » Sun Jun 07, 2015 7:14 am

Hi All,

In case some of you wern't aware there is a chap called Michael Smith flying his amphibiuan craft retracing the Short Empire flying boat route all the way from Melbourne, Australia to Southampton Docks..! You can read his Blog here: ... /tpod.html

He's damn nearly made it too! He is currently at Lake Como before flying onto and into France this week.

However, Micheal is looking for the definitive details and plan of where the Empires actually landed at Southampton, preferably a copy of the sea lane map/chart showing the flying boat landing points.

Has anyone got a copy of such a document they could let him see? If Yes, please email it direct to me so that I can get it to him.

Read his Blog, though; what a journey....!

Many thanks,
Best Regards,
