Half Die

Any photos, plans, drawings, directions, helpful hints on visting places where flying boats have been operated from historically, or are being operated from today. I am always interested in receiving 'Then & Now' type photographs to assist current day visitors to these place. I'm trying to record the best places to visit before they disappear for ever.

There was a flying boat base during WW2 called Half Die and it was in West Africa. Can anyone shed any light on it?

Search for RAF Bathurst, Gambia

http://www.accessgambia.com/information ... story.html

Bathurst was planned and divided into districts for specific ethnic groups. ...There was the poorest sector known as Moka or Mocam Town, which was later re-named Half-Die after the Cholera epidemic of 1869 killed many there, was populated by immigrant labourers from the Kombos and up-river areas.
