But, men, A3 format have much smaller size - 297 x 420 mm, or 11.7 × 16.5 in (see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_size). Most part of copier devices can work with such format.Having A3 (400 mmx800 mm - 15.75"x31.50"} size copies of the originals

I actually have in my personal archive a set of actual blue-prints printed on A3 (I think) paper - they are extremely large and very highly detailed copies of the originals.
The only way these would be copied is through a professional copy-company and that won't be cheap here in the UK.
Mind you, there are gorgeous!
But there are other accurate scale drawings around........let me see what I can find........
