Just a few pics

This is the place to discuss and ultimately show-off all aspects of constructing and actually flying your radio-control flying boat models. Pictures of construction, materials used, finishing and action shots of them flying, are very welcome.

The Bernard HV220 is simply beautiful! Nice to see the Sea Lion also. It was one of the planes I had on the list of subjects to choose from, when I was looking at subjects before the America project.

Hello Roy,

didn't know you build models! Fine work it is.
Please, can you add some detail to your Supermarine Sea Lion?

Regards,
Rene

Hi, my SEA LION is a total wreck after moving my workshop twice, but i keep promising myself to re-build it one day.
That photo was taken nearly 30 years ago at Calshot.

I had a bad feeling when I hadn't seen Roy here for a while, and just discovered that he sadly passed away in Dec when visiting his site. I enjoyed talking with Roy here, and he even went out of his way twice to send me literature and documentation. Some of this included high quality original articles from 1913 of the Curtiss America that I built. The priceless literature is on display with the plane.

At his site, it shows a number of absolutely incredible scale flying seaplane models that he has built. One of the most prolific in the area of rc seaplane building. Worth a look.

I was just thinking of him a couple days ago and was afraid of that.
We knew he had had some serious health issues a while back.
Roy sent me via email a huge amount of large size images of Grumman boats asking only photo credit which I gladly added.
Those emails also included long funny stories of models built, wrecked and repaired and of his travels.
I've missed those.
Rest in Peace Roy, you are and will continue to be missed.
