Sukhoi S-90

Ekranoplans - the Lun Class, the A-90 Orlyonok, the 'Caspian Sea Monster', the civilian classes - indeed anything that can be naturally classed as a W.I.G. can be discussed here.

Sukhoi S-90

S-90 is said to be developed by Sukhoi Design Bureau but there's no information about it on their website. According to the Russian Wikipedia article the prototype was supposed to be shown in 2000 at the Gidroaviasalon in Gelendzhik, Russia, but for some reason that never happened.
Here are a couple of pictures from the said article:

Sadly, I couldn't find any more information than that.

The S-90 shown in your pictures is the S-90-40, one of several very different Sukhoi WIG designs that all had the prefix S-90 with differing suffixes. None were progressed. There is a chapter devoted to Sukhoi's "WIG Agenda" in the book Soviet and Russian Ekranoplans by Sergey Komissarov & Yefim Gordon (MCP 2010).

Thanks, good to know! I presume the "40" in the designation stands for the passenger capacity?

I had to check but, yes, that is correct.
