What I would give to take a flight in that Beaver..!

I'm delighted to see this you know, as in my view they are 'keeping the dream alive'...and whilst no-one will ever get to fly from there in an Empire ever again, at least I could fly from there, off the water, shut my eyes and open them above the bay and just for a split-second imagine what it was like back-in-the-day.

I hope it's a complete success business-wise and they keep it going until (A) I win the lottery and travel down there or (B) some kind sole sends me two tickets!

Great photo's BTW and that Beaver would make a gorgeous scale model in that colour scheme.

Good on them, I say..!

Unfortunately I didn't have the time or cash to go for a flight myself either. But they were pretty busy with lots of coming and going. The money invested in their new terminal suggests they're doing well, which is great to see.

There is a company at Auckland, New Zealand operating two DHC-2 Beaver floatplanes from the Wynyard Quarter virtually in downtown Auckland.
