Fairey III series

Postby TASSE » Sun Nov 29, 2009 12:10 am

The Fairey IIID was developed from the Fairey Campania via the IIIA, IIIB & the IIIc and was the most important aircraft of the Royal Navy during the 1920s.

Some years back i was in Lisbon and wandered into the Geronimo Museum and was confronted by the IIID which attempted the Atlantic crossing. This aircraft had longer wings and modified cockpits.

The next major update on the III was the Fairey IIIF.
I can not find information on a IIIE even if there was one.

Contrail once produced a kit of the IIIF.

Also there is a Profile Publication No 44.
