Starting a topic for the Martin XP2M-1. This aircraft was from a different time and procurement method. The heritage for this design actually came from competitor Consolidated with their PY-1.
The XP2M-1 was essentially a near copy of the earlier PY-1 with some changes incorporated by Martin engineers. The major difference initially was the addition of a third engine on top of the wing.
Testing revealed that the weight and drag was not offset by increased performance and the third engine was removed. The model still suffered from shortcomings in performance. The aircraft
eventually was modified into the XP2Y-2 but lost the contract to the Consolidated P2Y-1

Would it be possible for you to repost the photos in a slightly smaller size, like 1024x600 size?

Yours are all 1200x972 and are just a bit too large. The right hand side is cut off in all the images.

No, don't take them down. I only asked if it was possible to post slightly smaller images because on my computer screen, the right edge is cut off. Sometimes I can click on the picture and see the whole thing in a smaller window, but that wasn't working yesterday. Please leave the pictures in the topic.
