The W.33 was used during the first war and also after the war.

More photos and a 3 view of this type would be welcome.

The right name of the aircraftfactory is Hansa-Brandenburg. So called by a town at the Havel river near Berlin...

look here: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hansa-Brandenburg

A 3-view diagram appeared in the June 1978 issue of Airfix Magazine - I found several copies on Ebay when I went looking for it. Note I have a couple of small reservations about the drawing (most major is the fact I have a good reference that states there was no cut-out of the wing trailing edge against the fuselage) but one the whole I belive it to be correct. Note I am not posting it due to copyright issues.

I would be grateful if someone could give me a reference for the colour schemes and markings used on the Norwegian Navy W33 "Make" licence-built versions. I am trying to model the 2 planes used to search for General Nobile after his airship crashed on the Arctic ice in 1929. The photo already shown on this thread of a Norwegian (?) W33 (number F.22) shows light grey (?) overall - but the pictures in a book I have of the search aircaft are much darker and I believe green upper, medium grey lower surfaces. Help getting the markings and wing stripes right would also be much appreciated.

Hope this helps

David

This is the best that i can do for you.

Only the W.29 had cut outs in the trailing edge.

Thanks for the 3-views, they actually match the drawings I have from Airfix Magazine in nearly all important details - apart from the cut outs of the wing. So I can start work on designing my model.

I am still unsure of the colour scheme, but have found a better picture of the W33 planes used by the Nobile rescue mission and that clearly shows the position and proportions of the wing stripes. More research needed on the Nowegian Navy flying wing colour schemes before I can be sure, but I am making progress.

All the best

David
