Rose Bay renovations

Any photos, plans, drawings, directions, helpful hints on visting places where flying boats have been operated from historically, or are being operated from today. I am always interested in receiving 'Then & Now' type photographs to assist current day visitors to these place. I'm trying to record the best places to visit before they disappear for ever.

Rose Bay renovations

I had a chance to visit Sydney/Rose Bay on New Year's Day and to my surprise discovered it has been renovated. Sydney Seaplanes has built a new multi-million dollar passenger terminal and cafe, which had apparently been open for only six weeks when I visited. It replaces the fibro shack they used previously and sits on the site of the former DCA Control Building. Well worth a visit for a quiet coffee even if you don't go for a flight.

There is also a small historical area in the back of the terminal which includes some items from the Qantas Heritage Collection
