Full hull or waterline?

Postby Guildman » Sun Feb 10, 2013 10:00 pm

Hi all,
just wondering whether it has ever occurred to anyone to have their flying boat and seaplane models in a waterline version, rather than full hull?

Hi Martin

In the modelling articles, of Seawings you will find an article by Bryan Ribbans, and his build of a Short Sunderland Mk V.
In his article, Bryan did a waterline model.

Graham Mehaffy in his build, did a waterline also I believe.

This gent on Hyperscale did a waterline also

For my Sunderland build (when I get it finished) will be full hull

Very nice, thanks Alan.

I was wondering if people would prefer the kit to be available in waterline form.

From my point of view, No.

Most flying boats can be depicted out of the water either on their own gear or beaching gear of some type.

That diorama was an exception for me as it was a commission. All of my models behind glass are on legs!
Best Regards,
