Anyone going to the Telford show?

Postby Cameraman » Mon Nov 07, 2011 9:15 pm

Hi Guys n Gals,

I wondered if any of our members were visiting the IPMS show at Telford, this coming weekend 12th & 13th November 2011?

Bryan's there (without doubt).

His good mate Tom (from Ireland) is making a special trip over.

I'll be trundling down from Lancashire on my trusty motorcycle.

Anyone else joining in with the fun?

Here's a link to the show

Hi Everyone,

well it was cracking to meet up with Bryan and Tom (who'd flown in from Ireland for the show).

As usual the parking was fabulous for us bikers (less than 100ft from the entrance), not so for some of the car drivers eh Bryan?

The food was well pricy (but it's the norm these days at such events).

However there were more people there than I've ever seen before and, to tell you the truth, I reckon there was a few too many. If there were lot's of space it wouldn't be too bad but loads of the visitors came loaded up with rucksacks, so as soon as they started to view the piles of kits on sale you were stuffed!

Anyway there were plenty of models on display so, rather than just post seaplanes, I thought I'd give you a taste of what was on view.

Enjoy.

The order of the images are as I to them, rather than grouping types or scales. I had a cracking time and came home with a few more DHC-2 Beavers for my ever increasing stash. Anyway on with the show.

Starting with a smart Hunter, and that's even before getting into the public halls.

And a couple of Harriers.

Now for me, the best stand of the event was the US to Italian Motorsport stand, which combined some superb cars and bikes, and tributes to recently lost car and bike warriors. Here's a few of the highlights.

Then at 09:50 the show opened to the public.

These beautiful Canberra's were 1/200th scale!

For me, the best model of the show wasn't even in the competition and was this stunning Bedford truck!

Part 2 to follow

So I hope you liked my images and I'm looking forward to Telford 2012!

Fabulous Reggie.
I've looked at several postings of photos on line of Telford and MOST of your images are new to me, Bravo !
Too bad I'm on the wrong side of the pond, looks like a blast.

Cheers,
Bill

Hi Bill,

cheers buddy.

It tickled me that people were carrying bloody great big tripods, and getting in peoples way, when all my shots were hand held and literally took just seconds per image.

As you can see, I like to get a low perspective during my shooting and no comments from Bryan with me not being tall!!!!!!

I'm glad you can get away with getting such good hand held shots,
Me, I shake like a dog passing a peach pit and unless I have at least a table tripod or a monopod I'm screwed. :D

Cheers,
Bill

PS. Neil Aird sends his regards - and asks the same question!!

Hi Tony,

I've emailed Neil a few shots, one of which he used as a banner (the Norwegian Beaver).

I'll added a new reply to this thread in the float section, just for you.

The Telford shots were taken with my old, trusty Canon 40D, using a Sigma 24-70 f2.8 EXDG.
