I worked for Freeport during the 80's on 300S. It was quite some time ago alright. Does anyone know if J-49 is still for sale?

I go a little bit further back with 300S than that, try 20+ years earlier.
When I was a kid in the late 50s - early 60s McDermott was in the hangar across from where both N200S (J-27) and N300S were hangared out at Lakefront.
I used go over there and hang out in that hangar all the time......

As far as it's availability, I don't know.
There was some interest by a very enthusiastic prospective buyer a few months ago.
It was apparently sold, but I'm not sure he fully realized the amount of work (& expense) needed to get it airworthy again.
it may be back on the market, I'd say check the sales sites like Controller and Trade a Plane and see what happens.

Yes, I knew Pat but I was leaving when he started work there. When I get to scanning negatives I will have more. This week I will post some images of J-49 that was with the sales package. I assume it is OK to post them here even though they are not my images. If J-49 has been sold, I would be willing to discuss some things with the new owner.
