Foreign operators of J2F Duck

Postby WhyMe » Thu Sep 25, 2014 12:12 am

According to Wikipedia article on J2F Duck these aircraft were operated by four foreign navies: Argentinian, Colombian, Mexican and Peruvian.
While information on Argentinian Ducks is pretty abundant, I could find nothing but a couple of blurry pictures of the other three.
I'm trying to figure out how they were painted, so my question is: does anyone have pictures of J2F Ducks operated by Colombia, Mexico or Peru? Or just information that can help with the liveries.

Aside from Argentina (I've got a bunch of theirs) they are pretty hard to find.
I have this one, a J2F-6 from the Mexican Navy, overall Aluminum lacquer with the Mexican national insignia in 6 positions, the fin codes are probably Black, the prop warning stripe on the nose is Red and the word PELEGRO (DANGER) is probably also Red, but might be Black, your call on that one.

And I have a magazine photo of one from Peru, but that was a display aircraft and I'm not sure how accurate the markings are.
I'd need to find it and scan it if you really want it.
It was overall Aluminum lacquer with the Peruvian Red/White national insignia and rudder stripes, I don't remember if it had a codes or any other markings.

Thank you, Bill! This is just what I needed.

I too found a picture of the Peruvian display aircraft:

So there's no need to scan the magazine.

Also here's a picture of Columbian Duck: flickr

That's the one alright, the photo I have is more of a profile, but pretty much the same.
Thanks.
