Anybody know exactly why JB "retired" N928J and turned it into a static display at one of his Margaritaville restaurants near Orlando, FL? Were there any specific "airworthiness" issues with it? Surely it wasn't just the cost of operating it. From what I've heard, he's already spent a LOT of $$$ over the past 4 years having Wipaire restore Larry Teufel's old Goose, N48550 (s/n 1061) of course during which time he's had no other flyingboat to fly - that I know of anyway (just Cessna Caravans on floats, ick!

You know, comparatively speaking....)
Of course, the whole "Jamaica Mistaka'" incident in which the Albatross was fired upon by overzealous law enforcement there is solved by simply not going back to Jamaica....
