Wing Commander Derek Martin

One of the last of the great flying boat pilots, Wing commander Derek Martin has died, aged 93.

I met him a couple of times and found him remarkably modest and generous with his time and memories. He was a great supporter of the Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust and had flown Sunderland T9044 which still rests on the seabed of Milford Haven.
