Baileys Bird TV Show

Postby oceanskimmer » Tue Feb 21, 2012 5:43 pm

Hi

There was a TV adventure series in the late 1970's called Bailey's Bird, which featured a Grumman Mallard, I can only just remember it, does anyone have any further information.

Bryan, would it be possible to have a section in the forum for films and tv shows which feature flying boats etc.

Regards

Search eBay for Bailey's Bird or Grumman Mallard, there's been a book on the series listed several times (& cheap too).

I don't remember such a TV show in the US - and I would have remembered something involving a Mallard.

According to IMDB (the Internet Movie Database), it was an Aussie show - and there was only 1 episode (presumably just a "pilot" for a new series.)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0255765/

Best old movie that I remember involving a Mallard was Slattery's Hurricane (1949) starring Richard Widmark.

May have been filmed in Australia, but it looks like it was to be a German release. Or maybe it was just a German clip...

Found a short clip.
