The final selling price was insane.
Another nice photo that's going to disappear into a private collection.
What a pity!

It was out of my price range but it was a rare (unique?) photo....All praise then to the dealers who don't watermark their auction photos! ...Ebay seems to archive them for a few months

And not in quite the right 'time zone' , but there's some Rudy Arnold/NASM Smithsonian photos of S-43 F-AQHY being loaded onto a barge at Floyd Bennett airfield in January 1938 at http://edan.si.edu/slideshow/viewer/?ea ... 56_ref1044 click to page2 for bulk

And back in the right time-zone (WWII) at the end of some 1937 shots of Howard Hughes S-43 there is a single photo of the ex-Inter-Island-Airways twin-tail S-43B? ready for shipping to KNILM as PK-AFT http://edan.si.edu/slideshow/viewer/?ea ... 56_ref1045 (on page2)
Bill Larkins got a shot of sister-ship twin-tail PK-AFU probably also at Floyd Bennett
