Flying Submarines?

Postby Adventureguy » Sun Apr 05, 2015 5:22 pm

Does anyone here have any information about any flying submarines that have actually been built or might be under development? No, I'm serious--I waited until after April 1st to post this. I seem to dimly recall that someone had built a barely-flying wet sub (scuba gear required) once long ago.

A flying submarine seems like a wacky idea, appropriate only for exuberant 1930s or 1960s Science Fiction or perhaps Wallace and Gromit. Surprising, though, with the latest submarine technology the numbers look promising. Would this be something of interest to members of the forum?
