Dang! That's close to home, relatively speaking. It's a 7+ hour, 760 km. drive west of here. Something to do now that I'm retired.

Well, now that I know it's there, a trip to go see is always a possibility. I've never been up that part of Alberta, so you never know. I just may mention it to Linda, to see if she might be up for it.

Summer's coming.

Chris,

As you know, I'm fortunate enough to have a walk-round of her on SEAWINGS already but the opprotunity to see something that gorgeous 'in the flesh' would be just too great for me!

That has to be one of the most attractive colour schemes for a civil Catalina I can think of, and the bonus for scale modelers is that there exists a first-class decal sheet for it, and decent model kits.

We are so lucky to still be able to see Cat's and others flying in 2017, some 78 years or so after they first flew. And, the designers I bet never factored in that into their design calculations right before a war......

What a cracking job the restorers/refurbishing organisation has done here; good on them and long may others carry on thinking the same way.

As long as you can find someone who is 'current' to fly it, that is.......
