I don't know.
One post I saw last night said it had been picked up and was on a barge, but I don't know how you'd get a crane big enough in that close in water that shallow.
I do know that if they don't hurry it up that airplane will be a total loss.

I've not seen anything to suggest it has been recovered yet although it was said that it was due to be lifted onto a barge today. Time will tell but I agree with Bill's last sentence below. Sad.

Looks like they got it floating,

Shows a tug trying to tow it back out to sea, with it sitting high and "level" in the water.

Fingers crossed. They will be flushing that baby out for a while.

Mdwflyer I can't see that page, seems to be private or friends only maybe.

This article reports the airplane broke in 3 during the lift attempt :

why oh why ?

Clearly shows the plane completely destroyed :
http://www.fox10tv.com/story/29471549/world-war-ii-era-plane-breaks-during-salvaging-effort

There must be some footage of how this happened considering this was close to a public beach..
Too eager a crew trying to lift a plane full of water ? incorrect rigging ? Nothing seems to indicate that the structure was damaged before the lift attempt (at least not the load bearing one).

The film company insurance must be all over this..
